Thomas Schmidt, a media and competence expert from Berlin, has been developing education initiatives and programmes in the thematic area of of digital media with Helliwood for more than twenty years. He brings together education and media and perceives himself as a proactive member of a digitalised society. His mission is to prepare children, young people and their adult companions for life in a digitalised world and to work with them to develop new ways of learning. He is a regular guest in classrooms, at conferences and in learning laboratories, with the aim of presenting successful projects and innovative approaches in the field of digital education to representatives from communities, education, politics and the economy. As an author, he provides orientation in an increasingly digital society and regularly blogs under the pseudonym @Wapoid.
In his private life, he is a family man and, together with his brother, is active with the Heiderinder, promoting the breeding of cattle in the Lüneburg Heath oriented to the well-being of the animals.
