Broadcast regulation for Let's Plays

A new State Treaty on Broadcasting and Media is currently under discussion, which is intended in particular to provide a solution to the current licensing obligation for Let's Players. All parties agree that there should be no broadcasting licence, but the way is not clear. Is a notification obligation sufficient or does the concept of broadcasting and the associated regulatory structure need to be rethought? In repeated cooperation with the Kölner Forschungsstelle für Medienrecht (Cologne Research Center for Media Law) at the Technical University of Cologne, the status of the political discussion will be analysed and possible ways from the point of view of the games industry will be discussed.
