Games have long been an integral part of media education and are also gaining greater significance in schools. However, they have still not been widely established. In order to spread proven concepts and methods, media educators are increasingly making OER materials available, which in turn can be used by multipliers. As part of the Hamburg Open Online University, the Creative Gaming Initiative developed the “Media Literacy with Games” open educational resource (OER) platform in cooperation with HAW Hamburg, which provides materials for media education work with digital games. The aim of this platform is to show the potential, challenges and limitations that arise from an open approach.
